In the northern hemisphere spring has sprung. In my part of the world, spring seems to last but a week as we quickly move from snow-covered fields and bare trees to warm summer sun. Leaves burst forth and flowers bloom and, very quickly, we are into summer and the world has found a new equilibrium.
It’s a time of the year when all of nature says, “WAKE UP!” it’s time to get moving again. Spring is a time when things happen – fast. To quote William Shakespeare "April hath put a spirit of youth in everything."
As a CEO you may have been in stun-mode the last few months. (And no one can fault you -what with Covid and the despicable egotistical acts of a sawn-off dictator.) But the hemisphere is waking up. People are planning things, buying things, making things, doing things. The train is leaving the station and it’s time to get on board.
The actions you take this week are likely much more impactful than those you took last January. Do you have an expansion planned – do it now. Do you want to launch a new product – do it now. Are you planning an acquisition – do it now. The pent-up demand and renewed enthusiasm engendered by the arrival of spring should not be missed.
“In springtime, the only pretty ring time, when birds do sing, hey ding a-ding, ding , CEO’s love the spring”.(From As You Like It by William Shakespeare)
Carpe Diem!
